Darren Starwynn
Dipl. Ac., O.M.D.
Has over 30 years experience in the healing arts, and is an expert on electro-therapeutic pain management and color light vibrational medicine. Darren has integrated extensive study of traditional Chinese, Japanese and German acupuncture with bodywork and modern electronics. He has taught seminars throughout North America, Europe and Asia over the past 23 years, and is the author of two groundbreaking books. He is the developer of the Acutron devices and techniques.
Teri E. Sherman
B.S., D.C.
Has spent the past 26 years studying, practicing and teaching Alternative Medicine including Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Rehab Exercise, Anatomy and Physiology and Reiki. Twenty-two of those years have been spent utilizing Microcurrent Therapies both for Pain Management and Facial Rejuvenation. As a Trainer and Teacher for Microcurrent Research for the past 5 years, Dr. Teri enjoys sharing her experience with practitioners around the country. A native of New York, Dr. Teri came to Phoenix, AZ in 1987. She has taught at Southwest Naturopathic College in Tempe, Arizona and Rainstar University in Scottsdale, Arizona. She currently practices in North Phoenix, AZ. Her philosophy is simple, “Love what you do and share.”
Debi Rene Weiss LAc.
RN, Dipl.Ac., MaOM
Debi’s medical career began in 1975 specializing in psychiatric nursing. In 1996 she received her BA in Ethics & Applied Philosophy from St. Catherine’s University, St. Paul, Minnesota. In 2001 Debi earned her Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine from the Minnesota College of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine. In 2005 she certified as a lifestyle medicine provider for both FirstLine Therapy and The Schwarzbein Principle TLC programs. It was also in 2005 that she began her microcurrent studies with Dr. Darren Starwynn and purchased her first of two Acutrons. By 2009 Debi was developing The Ideal Weight Program leading to further collaboration and teaching with Dr. Starwynn.
Debi’s clinic, Transition To Health, is a highly respected private practice in St. Paul, Mn. She attributes much of the clinic success to her continually evolving treatments combining acupuncture and microcurrent.
JAKE PAUL FRATKIN
OMD, L.Ac
Following undergraduate degrees in Chinese language and philosophy at the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Fratkin trained in Korean and Japanese acupuncture starting in 1975, in Chicago, and began clinical practice in 1978, in Madison, Wisconsin. In 1980 he began his education in traditional Chinese herbal medicine, which included ten months advanced training in China at several traditional hospitals. Dr. Fratkin has been teaching at various acupuncture colleges since 1982 and was Department Chairman of Herbal Medicine, Southwest Acupuncture College, Santa Fe. He is a practitioner and teacher of taijiquan and qigong, which he has followed since 1974. He is the author of Chinese Herbal Patent Medicines, The Clinical Desk Reference.
Dr. Fratkin is currently in private practice in Boulder, Colorado, where he combines Chinese herbal medicine, Japanese meridian balancing acupuncture, and nutritional medicine. He specializes in internal disorders, infections and pediatrics.
Peter Fairfield
L.Ac
Has been in professional clinical practice for over 40 years. This has included working in a wide variety of clinical settings and included founding and acupuncture program, being the resident acupuncturist at the Esalen Inst, having a clinic in the Himalayas for seven years studying the effects of long term spiritual retreat and various yogic practices on the physical and energetic body. He teaches nationally and with his wife Conde, have the Center for Health and Happiness in Mill Valley, CA where he specializes in issues of mood and behavior. He is also the author of the best selling book “Deep Happy”.
SCOTT SOMMER
L.Ac
Graduated from the University of California Davis in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Science. In 1998, he graduated from the University of the Pacific College of Oriental medicine in San Diego California with a Master of Science degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine.
After working with drug detox patients in the Sacramento area for over five years, Scott founded the Natural Life Center of Orangevale, California. Scott practices complementary alternative medicine. He currently sees patients on a national level and some international. Scott is a California board certified acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist specializing in nutrition, kinesiology, ear and tongue diagnosis, pulse diagnosis, nutritional medicine, weight loss, diet, and lab testing.
Richard Niemtzow
M.D., PhD
MPHis physician and acupuncturist at the U.S. Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA. Due to the nature of the facilities he works at, Dr. Niemtzow has been called upon to develop successful treatment methods for a wide range of chronic and intractable pain and disease conditions not often seen by most acupuncturists. He is an excellent and generous communicator.
